Liverpool Target Martin Zubimendi Yet To Have Key Talk With Real Sociedad Coach

Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi has not had a key talk with Real Sociedad coach Jokin Aperribay to tell him that he wants to leave the club for Anfield.

 

The Reds are chasing the signature of Zubimendi this summer and are prepared to trigger a €60m release clause in his Real Sociedad contract.

 

There have been encouraging noises that Zubimendi is prepared to leave Real Sociedad for Liverpool, but he retains a deep affection for the Spanish side and they are fighting to keep him.

 

 

Real Sociedad are waiting for two things to happen – Liverpool to trigger the clause and Zubimendi to tell coach Aperribay he wants to go.

 

According to Spanish daily Marca, Zubimendi has so far not talked to Aperribay to tell him he wants to go, while Liverpool have not triggered the clause.

 

 

The situation could change, but Real Sociedad are hoping it does not and that they are able to keep Zubimendi.

 

The club are also willing to hand him a new contract to continue.

 

 

Real Sociedad fielded Zubimendi on Friday evening in a friendly clash against Union Berlin.
