Report: Bournemouth earmark Solanke replacement as Spurs talks progress

HITC have revealed that Bournemouth have now earmarked Tammy Abraham as a replacement for Dominic Solanke as Tottenham close in on signing the striker.

Tottenham close in on Dominic Solanke

Duncan Castles and David Ornstein both reported this morning that Tottenham have agreed a fee to sign Solanke from Bournemouth – and it would be a club-record sale for the Premier League club.

Alasdair Gold also confirmed that Spurs are ‘closing in’ on their top striker target, who has shown a great ‘desire’ to play under Ange Postecoglou in North London this season.

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook tempered expectation a little by saying that a deal has not yet been agreed, but talks appear to be moving in the right direction either way.

Bournemouth are looking for a new striker

If HITC’s latest update is to be believed, Bournemouth are now making plans for life without Solanke amidst Spurs’ approach.

It is alleged that the South Coast club are expected to push ahead with a move for Abraham if they lose their talisman, having identified the Roma star as a potential replacement for the 26-year-old.

The publication also makes it clear that Tottenham’s search for a new centre-forward is not dependent on Richarlison leaving the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like all parties now expect the Solanke deal to go through sooner rather than later.

However, I would be quite surprised if Spurs paid the striker’s full release clause. I think the Lilywhites will attempt to bring the price down by including plenty of performance-related add-ons.
