‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms latest transfer deal involving Tottenham
The exodus of players at Tottenham Hotspur this summer continues, with yet another first-team player heading out the door after a long negotiation process over the last two months.
Emerson Royal has left the building
We are, of course, talking about Emerson Royal, who is not set to leave Tottenham to join AC Milan on a permanent transfer.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to give his ‘Here we go’ seal of approval to the transfer which is reported to be for total package in excess of €15m
Royal had been part of Ange Postecoglou‘s pre-season squad for the tour of Japan and Korea and had a solid performance against Bayern Munich last weekend.
A long time coming
Royal had been linked to Milan since the end of last season, but negotiations had stuttered due to reports the Italian outfit were not prepared to meet Spurs’ valuation of the player.
Milan previously offered just £8.4m for the 25-year-old (BBC), but it is thought they increased that offer to around £12.6m plus add-ons recently (Gianluca Di Marzio).
Earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano had claimed final steps were being taken to get the deal wrapped up, while word from TuttoSport revealed Milan wanted to get the transfer completed in the next ten days – which proved to be even longer in reality.
It has been suggested Spurs will look to sign another young right-back once the move for Royal is finalised (Football Insider).

He may not have been perfect, but Emerson Royal can never be accused of giving anything less than 100% every time he played for Spurs.
