FIFA agent David Lavelle believes that Federico Chiesa is more likely to end up at West Ham United or Fulham than Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Federico Chiesa is set to leave Juventus

Chiesa, who is now into the final year of his contract at Juventus, is expected to leave Turin in search of a fresh challenge this summer.

This was confirmed by the Old Lady’s new head coach Thiago Motta, who revealed a few days ago that the Italy international has been asked to find a new club (Fabrizio Romano).

Over the course of July, several sources had named Spurs as a potential destination for the 26-year-old, with the Lilywhites alleged to hold a ‘concrete interest’ in the player (Florian Plettenberg).

However, this claim was subsequently dismissed by other reporters, who suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s men have not made any advances towards Chiesa (Fabrizio Romano).

Spurs will not want to pay £30m for Chiesa

Lavelle has now backed up that claim, revealing that he had heard nothing of Spurs’ interest in the former Fiorentina man.

When asked if Chiesa could move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the agent old Bianconero: “I haven’t heard anything about it, to be honest. I didn’t hear anything about that noise. This is news to me.”

However, Lavelle suggested that the winger could indeed be London-bound, naming the Cottagers and Hammers as potential destinations for the player.

He added about Chiesa: “He is a very, very good player. There is definitely a possibility. I spoke with Cristiano (Giuntoli, ed.).

“I think he could find a possibility in a couple of Premier League clubs, and I can say that we have some requests for a winger left from Fulham, who would be willing to pay, and from West Ham. But it will be very hard to convince him.

“It will be tough to sell him. Tottenham could be an option for Chiesa, but they have quite a few players in that position. However, I doubt they will pay €35m.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears Tottenham and Postecoglou are leaning towards players who have Premier League experience under their belts.

That is why they seemingly prefer Pedro Neto to Federico Chiesa and Dominic Solanke to Jonathan David.
