Report: Premier League rivals think they can beat Tottenham to Eberechi Eze

According to 90 min, Liverpool see Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham, as a ‘realistic’ summer target.

Eze has been linked with a move to Spurs right from the start of the summer and the speculation shows no signs of dissipating anytime soon.

In fact, at the start of this week, Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport that the Lilywhites are still continuing to explore a deal for the England international.

However, a couple of days ago, Football Transfers played down the possibility of the transfer by claiming that Spurs’ talks with Palace over the attacking midfielder had ‘stalled’.

The report explained that the two clubs are not seeing eye-to-eye in terms of the transfer fee and that the 25-year-old now looks likely to remain put at Selhurst Park for one more season.

Liverpool now enter the race for Eze

Tottenham’s efforts to land Eze might have just become a lot more complicated as 90 min have now asserted that the Reds are also eyeing a move for the player.

The report says that given the former QPR man’s ability to play through the middle as well as in either flank, Arne Slot’s men want to bring him to Anfield.

The publication further adds that since Eze has a release clause of around £60m, he is seen as a ‘realistic target’ by the Merseyside club.

It has been clear right from the start of the summer that Tottenham would have to pay Eze’s release clause in order to have a chance to sign him.

By all accounts, the release clause is quite complicated, which might be why Spurs are seemingly looking at other alternatives.
