Manchester City hosts soccer clinic at local YMCA

0 3

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) -- Manchester City visited the Whitehall Community Park YMCA Friday to host a youth soccer clinic for 80 young athletes.

Manchester City worked with 80 preselected YMCA Day Camp and Child Care participants to learn professional soccer skill and drill training. Split into two sessions with 40 kids each, participants met and trained with the professional soccer players. Each session lasted an hour and a half.

Participants also got to meet the club mascots, Moonbeam an Moonchester, and view Manchester City's trophies, including the coveted Premiere League Trophy.

The reigning English Premier League Champions are in Columbus this week on their pre-season tour of the U.S.

Tomorrow, the team will take on Chelsea in an exhibition game at Ohio Stadium. In what will likely be the most attended soccer game in Ohio, Manchester City will play the 2021 UEFA Champions League winners at 5 p.m., two weeks before they play again in their opening match of the 2024-2025 English Premier League season.
