Manager reveals the Postecoglou tactic that makes him hard to play against

Son starred in Spurs’ victory against K-League’s all-stars

Tottenham travelled to the South Korean capital in order to continue their pre-season which has so far seen Postecoglou’s men win every single one of their four games, beating Hearts, QPR, Vissel Kobe and most recently, Team K-League.

Spurs captain, Heung-Min Son was on form in his home country, curling in his first effort from the edge of the box and then doubling his tally merely minutes later with a superb finish.

K-League’s all-star team didn’t lie down however, clawing back three goals in the second half, meaning Will Lankshear’s 67th-minute tap-in was the eventual winner.

Team K-League was coached by the manager of Pohang Steelers, Park Tae-Ha, whose team sit just two points off of the top spot with eight games remaining. New Spurs signing, Yang Min-Hyuk also featured.

Postecoglou’s midfield tactics caught the eye

Team K-League’s manager was gracious in defeat when speaking to the media as Park explained: “In the first half, Tottenham showed they are a top-class team in Europe. In the second half, we showed K-League’s strength.”

Park then lauded the tactics that Postecoglou deployed against his side, stating (Sungmo Lee): “I was very impressed by him, especially with how he adds numbers in midfield so that Tottenham can play attacking football.

“In today’s game as well, the half space, player’s positioning, the way the players move were very impressive.”

Spurs Web opinion

As proven by Park’s comments and many of the games last season, Postecoglou has the mentality and attacking tactics that suit the ‘Tottenham way’ perfectly, whilst still offering a high chance of silverware.

That is, however, if the Australian is backed. Postecoglou has been given lots of young talent that he is currently managing aptly, however, his side is still short in attack.
