Salutary lesson of how the mighty fall and what might have happened to us.

Multiple ownership problems, collapsed takeover and one of the biggest clubs in France is effectively no more. Financial shenanigans have resulted in demotion to the third tier (barely a notch above parks football) with a drop even lower very possible when the next charges are heard next month. As a result they have given up their professional licence which means all the players are free agents, most of the staff sacked, the academy disbanded, the training ground gone and they can no longer sign a lease to stay in their council-owned stadium.

It's very sad.
