Preview: Watford (H)
There’s a break from Premier Sports Cup action this midweek for the Hibees as we face Watford in our final pre-season friendly ahead of the 2024/25 William Hill Premiership campaign.
The match will take place on Wednesday 24 July, kicking off at 7pm.
The friendly will see the return of Hibs Academy graduate and Scotland international Ryan Porteous to Easter Road Stadium.
David Gray will use this as an opportunity to increase his squad’s match fitness.
THE VISITORS
Watford currently compete in the English Championship and finished 15th last season with 56 points from 46 games.
Tom Cleverley was announced as the Hornets’ permanent Head Coach in April 2024 after a successful interim period in charge. He’s only lost two league games since his appointment.
This match will be Watford’s fifth pre-season match as they prepare for their Championship campaign. So far they have beaten Boreham Wood, drawn with Stevenage and lost to both Reading and Gillingham.
