Richarlison’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has attracted plenty of speculation in the current transfer window.

Richarlison is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia

The Brazilian international’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been called into question on more than one occasion.

Richarlison took to his Instagram story back on May 28th of this year to insist that he will be playing in England next season and dismissed suggestions he is in talks to leave the club as “fake news”.

The 27-year-old suffered yet another stop-start season due to injury issues and found the back of the net 12 times in 31 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, typically sharing the central striker role with captain Heung-min Son.

GiveMeSport reported earlier this week that Tottenham were bracing themselves for offers for the striker with Saudi dealmakers prepared to pay close to £60million for the former Everton player.

Both Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah are said to be interested in Richarlison, who did not appear in Tottenham’s 5-1 win over Hearts on Wednesday evening since he is still working his way back from the calf injury sustained towards the end of last season.

The striker may have now had a change of heart

HITC have today revealed that Richarlison has given the green light for a move to Saudi Arabia and dealmakers are now stepping up their interest in the weeks prior to the transfer window closing.

Tottenham are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they make the short trip to QPR for their second pre-season outing.

Richarlison’s departure would put even more urgency on Tottenham to sign at least one new striker in the current window, having not yet attempted to replace Harry Kane.

It would be a remarkable u-turn from the player if he is now prepared to head to Saudi this summer after being so insistent a matter of months ago that he wanted to remain in England.

Unfortunately, it just hasn’t worked out for the player during his time at Tottenham. A lack of consistency, partly due to injury has meant that he has not warranted the hefty price tag.
