Leicester are keen on Tottenham’s wantaway midfielder

There doesn’t appear to be a shortage of clubs willing to sign Oliver Skipp this summer following rumours from TEAMTALK that a host of top-flight clubs are interested.

Leeds United are also said to be keen on the Spurs academy graduate, and their interest is being driven by manager Daniel Farke, Skipp’s former manager when he was on loan at Norwich in 2020/21.

Football.London revealed back in late May that after six years with the Tottenham senior team, with most of last season having been spent on the bench, Skipp is seeking regular game time and is willing to move away from Spurs this summer if necessary.

The report also stated how a sale could prove difficult with Skipp qualifying as a homegrown player, a quota which Tottenham are currently only just meeting for the Premier League and Europa League, although the addition of Archie Gray plus any fee for Skipp’s sale may mean a move is now possible.

The Foxes are set to move for Oliver Skipp

An exclusive report from Football Insider has revealed that Leicester, under the new management of Steve Cooper, are looking to bolster their midfield following the loss of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea.

The Foxes could bring Oliver Skipp to the King Power, reuniting the 23-year-old with his fellow Hotspur Way youth product, Harry Winks, who moved to the recently promoted side last season.

Football Insider revealed Leicester are currently plotting a move, with Tottenham open to the sale of the midfielder who has over 100 appearances in Lilywhite.

Spurs Web opinion

Oliver Skipp is definitely at a crossroads in his career. At 23 years of age, Skipp has failed to make a lasting impact within the Tottenham first-team, not helped by the club’s flurry of managers over the past few years.

However, Skipp doesn’t seem to be valued too highly for Postecoglou either, only making five league starts in the whole season, with the arrival of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray hardly making a breakthrough easier for the player next season. (TransferMarkt)
