Willhoft-King left Tottenham last month

Willhoft-King, who was born in Jakarta, joined the Spurs academy in 2012 when he was just six years old and he progressed through the academy ranks up to the Under-19 level.

The midfielder was capped twice by England at the Under-16 level and was even named in The Guardian in their list of 20 best young players in his age group back in 2022.

The 18-year-old reported rejected a new contract offer offered by Tottenham last month (Jon Wenham – Tottenham News) after his deal ran out, thus choosing to end his 12-year association with the Lilywhites.

Willhoft-King agrees to join Manchester City

According to Romano, the Willhoft-King has now agreed on a one-year contract with Manchester City and is set to link up with their Under-19 squad ahead of the new season.

The journalist says that the former Spurs man will now have his medical at the Etihad Stadium before finalising his move to the Premier League champions.

Spurs Web Opinion

Just as Spurs continue to poach the best young talent from the academy set-up of various clubs, we will have to make peace with the fact that we will occasionally lose talented youngsters to other clubs.

Let’s be honest, we are not short on players ready to make the step up next season anyway.
