Alasdair Gold names ‘big-money signing’ Spurs are looking to ‘put their eggs in the basket for’

Alasdair Gold has named Eberechi Eze as the player that Tottenham Hotspur are most likely to spend big on this summer, revealing that Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of the Crystal Palace star.

Spurs are serious about Eberechi Eze

Over the past few weeks, an increasing number of outlets have suggested that Spurs are serious about their efforts to prise Eze away from Crystal Palace.

Earlier this week, TBR Football claimed that Tottenham had reached out to the England international about a potential transfer and that the player had signalled his intention to make the move.

It was suggested by talkSPORT on Tuesday that Spurs are even prepared to activate the attacking midfielder’s release clause which stands at around £60m, with the report adding that the Lilywhites are willing to look at it once they free up their wage bill with a few player sales.

Spurs have Eberechi Eze as a priority signing

Gold has now suggested that Eze is the one player that Tottenham want more than any other this summer.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel: “The big one is probably Eberechi Eze, I mentioned earlier, he’s definitely one of Spurs’ priority targets they’d love to bring in this summer. Postecoglou is a big admirer of his.

“He would definitely be a big-money signing. We talk about those big kind of money signings and he would certainly be the one that you’d think Spurs are kind of looking to put their or at least try to put their eggs in the basket for.

“Again, I can, you’re quite rightly, I can hear people saying ‘why does it have to be only one’, but certainly, he would be so exciting if Spurs could get that done.

“They love him at Spurs and he is, as I’ve said before, represented by Base, the agency who also represent Postecoglou, Son, Madison, Porro, Sarr and more staff at the club.”

Tottenham cannot afford to wait too long as one would imagine that other top clubs across the Premier League would also be keeping an eye on Eze’s situation.

If a Champions League club come in for the Palace star, it might be difficult for Spurs to win the race.
