Pedro Porro names three Spurs stars as the most skilful trio in the squad

Speaking to the club in the off-season, Pedro Porro has been discussing the talents of the Tottenham Hotspur squad, and he named three midfielders as the most skilful players in the side.

Porro had a fantastic season for Spurs in the 2023/24 campaign, registering four goals and seven assists across all competitions for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

All four of those goals were pretty special for Porro, including a 30-yard screamer against Burnley in the FA Cup, a goal that was voted Goal of the Season by the Official Supporters’ Clubs of Tottenham.

The Spaniard suffered heartbreak at the end of the campaign, though, having been left out of Spain’s Euro 2024 squad.

Who is the most skilful player at Spurs?

So, Porro has a bit of time on his hands now, and has been helping fans get to know him better in an interview as part of the matchday programme (via the Tottenham website).

In this chat, Porro was asked who is the most skilful player in the Spurs squad, and said: “Me, of course! No, I’m just joking! I think it is very difficult to pick just one player because many of the squad are very skilful.”

It was such a difficult decision, in fact, that Porro had to give three answers instead of committing to one player. “The best are probably James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, and Giovani Lo Celso,” he eventually revealed.

I’m a little bit surprised by that answer, just because most people would usually say Heung-min Son when they’re asked this question.

Still, we know Maddison can do special things with the ball, and Bissouma can be especially tricky when he’s at his very best. Lo Celso, too, is a very agile and silky midfielder when he’s given a chance on the ball.
