Report: Spurs ‘really like’ Serie A star and are not ready to give up on signing him

TuttoJuve claim that Tottenham Hotspur remain big admirers of Riccardo Calafiori and have not yet given up on their pursuit of the Bologna star.

One can certainly understand why Spurs are rumoured to be after Calafiori, whose versatility and age makes him a fantastic fit for Ange Postecoglou’s project at Tottenham.

However, TuttoJuve have become the latest to point out that it is Juventus who are currently at the front of the queue to land the centre-back, having been in ‘regular contact’ with Bologna over a deal for the player.

Spurs still in the race for Riccardo Calafiori

The report points out that the Old Lady continue to deal with plenty of competition for Calafiori, with Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen and Newcastle United still in the picture.

The outlet says that Postecoglou’s men ‘really like him a lot’ and are continuing to circle around the 21-year-old, who is valued at around €30m (£25.6m) by Bologna.

However, the publication points out that Spurs have some work to do as they need to convince the Italy Under-21 international about a move to England as the youngster prefers to remain in Serie A.

With Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly seemingly not keen on a move to Spurs, one would expect the North London side to pull out all the stops to beat Juventus to the signing of Calafiori, who ticks a number of boxes for the Lilywhites.
