Portland Thorns Comfortable 2-0 Win over Kansas City

Portland Thorns overcame Kansas City with a comfortable 2-0 win on August 1, 2021 at Providence Park, Portland, Oregon. Both goals scored in the first half, and multiple opportunities by both sides. The first goal came at the tenth minute with an own goal by Kansas City Kristen Edmonds while attempted to clear a cross from Portland Thorns defender Meghan Klingenberg. The second goal came towards the end of the first 45, when Marissa Everett finished a play from Sophia Smith.
