Who’s making the top four? A look at the Champions League chasers

Challenging for fourth

There’s then healthy competition for fourth spot. Champions Liverpool are tied at EVS with Chelsea currently, but given Chelsea’s three point advantage and the great work new manager Thomas Tuchel is doing, you’d perhaps put them in the driving seat as it stands.

Liverpool are in torrid time in the division and could slip to eighth if Everton and Aston Villa make the most of their games in hands. Both are contenders for the top four, with the Toffees perhaps most likely out of the two given the revolution Carlo Ancelotti is enjoying at Goodison.

The Merseyside team are 10/1 to make the Champions League cut, behind both West Ham and Tottenham, with the Hammers currently occupying that all-important fourth spot. Whether they can maintain that form until the end of the season is yet to be seen. It seems unlikely at 26/5 but they’ll certainly be keen to secure some form of European football come the end of the season given the effort they’ve put in at the London Stadium.

Spurs’ troubles have followed a similar pattern to Liverpool. They had a blistering start but have trailed off dramatically and just can’t seem to get Bale, Kane and Son working together as a trio. At 9/1, Spurs are a bold punt and they will do well to get any European football should they not win a trophy.
