Mum, 47, working at Tottenham match is left in agony after football hooligans drop her HEAD-FIRST
A MUM working at a Tottenham football match wants compensation after hooligans picked her up and dropped her head-first to the floor.
Anna Ray was a welcome host for the Premier League giants ahead of a crunch European tie when she was attacked by yobs who carried her 200 yards before throwing her to the ground.
The PSV Eindhoven supporters left her in agony and caked in blood, leading Tottenham to enhance security for their ‘fanbassadors’.
Despite being left scarred from the ordeal, Anna says she has had no compensation or calls from the North London club – just a token bouquet of flowers.
She said: “I was greeting fans outside the station and offering photo opportunities and handing out flyers.
“The idea is to welcome fans to the game before they reach the stadium. But it all went wrong and the thugs picked me up and carried me while on the run.
“They were screaming and jeering at me and I was terrified. They were clearly drunk and found it hilarious. Other stewards were running after me trying to help.
“Eventually the hooligans stopped but rather than lower me to the floor I was thrown to the ground and landed on my head.”
Mum of one Anna, 47, suffered a broken tooth and nose and severe bruising.
She was covered in blood and has a scar on her nose she can’t afford to treat via plastic surgery.
She had to go straight home following the trauma ahead of the Champions League tie against Dutch side PSV at Wembley Stadium last November.
And despite months of effort, she has failed in a compensation bid after her ordeal.
Actress Anna was unable to fulfil other stage roles and had to pay to get her teeth fixed.
In the aftermath of the attack she also had to turn down other work for Street PR, the firm then contracted to greet fans by Spurs.

The company was axed by the club at the start of the current season, leaving her with no chance of boosting her income.
Single Anna, of Friern Barnet, North London, said: “Spurs sent me a bouquet of flowers but that was it.
“I’d just like someone to call me and say sorry for what happened and offer to set me right. Street PR who I was employed by have just left me to it.
“I’m hundreds of pounds out of pocket after what happened. I spoke to police at Wembley after it happened, but there was very little that could be done.
“People I meet tell me I have something on my nose, but it’s my scar. I have been left traumatised and badly injured. I should be compensated. It has been ten months but I’ve heard nothing.
“People are compensated for much less than what I endured for the club. I’m a Spurs fan, but it is all so disappointing.”
Anna told how Spurs have now hired extra stewards and asked police to look over their ‘fanbassadors’ before games to prevent away fans attacking them.
They work face-painting kids and offering families a cardboard Spurs-themed frame to pose for pictures in.
She said: “We are all about enhancing the customer experience.
“I tried going back after my ordeal but I struggled and couldn’t do the job properly.”
The job of greeting fans, worth £10 an hour for six hours on match days, has now been taken ‘in-house’ by Tottenham.
Street PR were last night understood to be in talks with insurers in a bid to compensate Anna. The firm refused to comment.
