Former Raiders head coach Tom Flores is among 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2019, it was announced Thursday.

Flores, 81, coached the Raiders to wins in Super Bowls XV and XVIII, becoming the first minority head coach to win a Super Bowl. He also won Super Bowl rings as a player for the Chiefs in 1969 and as an assistant coach with the Raiders in 1976.

Flores became the first Hispanic starting quarterback in pro football playing for the Raiders in 1960. As their head coach from 1979-87, he compiled an 83-53 regular-season record and 8-3 mark in the postseason.

He advances after being named a modern-era semifinalist for the first time in November.
