Sturridge added: “I felt sharp. I’m glad to be starting and glad to be providing some chances for the boys as well and it’s a great victory for us.
“It’s important for everyone at the club. We’ve been good the last few weeks but maybe we should have taken more points in some of the games.”
Liverpool will still demand £30m for Mamadou Sakho, currently sidelined with a knee injury, as Crystal Palace look to keep the France defender at Selhurst Park.
The Reds are willing to sell Sakho, who helped Palace stay in the Premier League, but will not go below their initial valuation.
