FIFA Council agrees safeguarding policy
March 23 – World governing body FIFA has passed a safeguarding policy that will face a first test at this summer’s World Cup.
In a brief statement, Zurich said: “Following consultation with external stakeholders and with the aim of further enhancing FIFA’s commitment to ensuring a football environment that is free from all forms of harassment and abuse, the FIFA Council approved” a safeguarding policy.
