It's beer.
If you want a pint or two at half time you have to be at the bar by the time the whistle goes.
Otherwise you spend the whole of half time in the queue.
That's why people are leaving early and returning late. It's quite possible to drink a pint in 15 minutes. Two is pushing it though, especially if you had few before the game.
If you spend 10 minutes queueing you'll never be back on time so people leave early. I think loads meet up with mates they can't sit with as well.
It happens at every ground every week.
