When I watched him last week at Edgbaston he looked so out of sorts, but yet on this 'sporting' wicket he's looked a class above everyone else.

It's amazing how much can change, even within a single innings. The margins are so small. It makes me wonder whether the same is true for other top-level sports.
You can see it in basketball, but football? The difference between a striker scoring or fluffing a shot?
