Bit part Icelandic internationals who play for Midtable Eredivisie teams aren't generally considered to have incredible pedigree.

For league one I’d say an international number 10 is quite an asset to have surely.

It is but I think your starting point about his pedigree is where your issue with thinking he is poor comes from. He is not a guaranteed starter for Iceland.

Dykes is a starter for Scotland, has probably played at a higher level than Go Ahead Eagles.
