Villa paid a £5.25mil release clause and have given him a £6mil a year salary.
They also have promised him significant backing in January which judging by history will likely be many £10s of millions of pounds and quite possibly £100mil or more.
We are simply incapable of providing any of that.
Villa are on a different level financially and ambition wise to us.
So no, he wasn't available when we got Marsch, he wasn't available to Villa either.
But they got him with cold hard cash, promise of more cash, and a genuine plan of ambition and progress rather than empty words.
