I think they shut all the food and drink in order to convince those attending the morning sessions to vacate the stadium in time for the afternoon session (for which they are open again).

I can understand that, but I thought there was only morning & evening sessions?

There was some entertainment after the final event this morning and was just thinking there would have been people needing some food & possibly a drink.
