VAR did check it as well to make sure the correct decision was made.

In general, VAR is a great system that gets 99% of the decisions correct. The problem is that it was sold as a thing that is going to be 100% correct every single time and clear up every single bit of controversy. Because it doesn't do this, some people think it is ruining football and needs removing from the game.
