Couldn't resist...my first post in about a decade too! B)
Do try and hire a car and explore though...as nice as it is, there's more 'Spanishy' places to go to, cartegena, murcia & Torrevieca spring to mind...you might bump into Vince at Villamartin too, I believe he's out there at the same time.
