How you can help our Club

There are a few opportunities to help support our club in the coming weeks.

Our 3s are playing in the final of the Reserve Cup this Saturday, 29th April, at 10:00am at Glasgow Green. Given this is our development team, mainly in their late teens, it is a great achievement to have reached the final. It would be wonderful if they could go on to win the cup – and your support would certainly help. Let’s get a good vocal crowd along on Saturday morning to support our 3s. 

After finishing in 7th place in NL1, our 1s will be involved in the relegation play-offs the following Saturday, 6th May at GHK against Inverleith, who finished 2nd in NL2. Again, a strong support could help our 1s survive the play-off and stay in the top division, so please come along and add your voice.

Our AGM will be on Monday 8th May at 7:30pm at Woodend. Please do your best to attend as it is important that as many of our members as possible are involved in debating issues and planning for next season.

Please also think beforehand about how you could help to run our club. What skills do you have that you could share? There will be opportunities in coaching and captaining. There are also opportunities to help in the administration of the club. The positions we will be looking to fill include:

• President (my two year term is up)
• Treasurer
• Membership secretary
• Match secretary (National / Regional Leagues and WD Leagues)
• Umpiring convenor
• Equipment / kit convenor
• Junior convenor
• Communications secretary (website / social media)

Please consider which of these you could match with your skills and your desire to help run our club. With the exception of the President role, each of these jobs could be shared, so please discuss this option with your club mates. As well as these posts, there are other ways you can help: coaching, umpiring, or identifying potential sponsors. Or you could develop an app for the club - to show fixtures, results, news and social events. 

Our annual awards dinner will follow on Saturday 13th May at Glasgow High School Pavilion. Please contact your team captain to reserve tickets.
