Hockey Club nominated for Sports awards

Cheshire East Special Recognition Award Alderley Edge Hockey Club  have been shortlisted in the Cheshire East Special Recognition category at the Cheshire East Sport Awards. The event is being organised by the Cheshire East Council Development Team in order to recognise the individuals and organisations that make a substantial contribution to sport in the borough. To honour this achievement a team from The Edge will be at Cranage Hall, Byley Lane, Cranage, Crewe, CW4 8EW on Thursday 21st November. The evening will begin at 6.30pm with a two course meal followed by the awards at 7.45pm until approximately 9.30pm. The evening is being hosted by Mike Shaft, BBC Manchester presenter and British Basketball announcer, as well an experienced host of award ceremonies. The awards aim to recognise and honour the hard work of local volunteers, coaches, clubs and schools providing sporting opportunities across Cheshire East throughout the year. The annual awards evening is our way of recognising the people who dedicate their time to grass roots sport, and actively encourage healthy lifestyles of their local communities. All nominees will receive a certificate and the winners will receive a trophy and will be invited to represent Cheshire East at the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Awards in 2014.
