Indian Women’s Hockey Team goes down 3-5 to Australia A in opening match of Australia Tour
Mahima Tete, Navneet Kaur, and Lalremsiami netted a goal each for India
New Delhi: The Indian Women’s Hockey Team fought valiantly but fell short in their opening game of the Australia Tour, going down 3-5 against a clinical Australia A side at the Perth Hockey Stadium on Saturday. India found the back of the net through Mahima Tete (27’), Navneet Kaur (45’), and Lalremsiami (50’), while Neasa Flynn (3’), Olivia Downes (9’), Ruby Harris (11’), Tatum Stewart (21’), and Kendra Fitzpatrick (44’) scored for Australia A.

Irish Weekend Results: Promotion places secured in the EY Hockey League Division 2 Play-Offs and final EY Champions Trophy places locked down.
In The Men’s EYHL 2 Play-Off Semi-Finals, Cork C of I and Cookstown overcame Portrane and Cork Harlequins respectively to secure topflight promotion and a place in tomorrow’s final. Cork C of I came from behind twice in the first game of the day to eventually beat Portrane, with Tiarnan Gaffney producing the decisive goal in the final quarter. Straight after, Cookstown manage to hold off Cork Harlequins to also gain promotion, with the Ulster side having to hold firm in the second half to eventually seal the win.

LAHORE: In an upsetting development for Pakistan, the Johor Hockey Association in Malaysia has written a letter to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) asking for a sum of $10,349.35 while citing extra accommodation and meals that were provided to the country’s junior team which took part in the 11th Sultan of Johor Invitational Cup in Johor Bahru in 2023.
