M4s beat M5s in shocking local derby

Northampton Hockey Club - Saints Ladies 2s Vs Nottingham Trent 2s

Trent started the game looking to dominant another side as they sit top of the table. However, Saints started the game well and took the game to Trent with a well worked goal starting from half back Elise Ramoo down the wing to Katie Fidler with a great ball to Dani Austin on the 25 line and then to Maise Harte in the D where she managed to get round the keeper to put Saints one up. Although saints put up tough resistance, saints conceded 3 in the first half to end the half 3-1 down. As the second half started Hattie Fordham and Kate Kitching were holding the front line of Trent’s forwards, but eventually Trent’s pressure told and another goal from open play was scored. Katie Fidler worked hard to win Saints a short corner where Elise Ramoo statrted the ball on its way but it was left short, fortunately Izzy Webb popped up for an easy tap in! Trent scored one further goal to secure a 5-2 win. Noticeable performances came from Hattie Kendrick, Tia in goal, Elise and Hattie Fordham, but todays MOM went to Danni Austin . The score didn’t reflect how well the team played. MOM to Dani Austin for her great play.  Well done to everyone for the hard work and all keeping their heads up after a tough game.

*Mens 5s* 2-5 *Mens 4s*

*Goalscorers:*
Liam Smith
Julian Hemmings

Well, the Big Game’s score line definitely didn’t disappoint. 7 goals crossed the line today, unfortunately 5 of them against the Mens 5s.
But a Valiant effort from all of the 5s today, with some good build up play, great defending and even clinching back 2 goals.
If we can continue playing the rest of our games the way we did this one, we can definitely keep challenging for top half of the table!
Until next time 4s… ????????

Men's 6's 0-6 Rugby and EW 6

Tough game, but very well played by us against top of the league. Starting to find our shape, now we just need to stop running into players!

M2s played out a third consecutive 3-2 scoreline but sadly this week they were on the wrong end of the result against a fast attacking Mansfield 1s. Having gone behind early to a point blank strike Scott H pulled Saints level at the half from a masterful PC. A defensive slip let Mansfield in to retake the lead early in the second and despite some great pressure from the Saints forwards Mansfield converted one of their fast breaks to go 3-1 ahead. A late second strike from Scott H brought the M2s back into contention but they couldn't quite find an equaliser. A really positive away performance ended in disappointment but the standard of play was reflected in a 3-way tie for MoM - Dan, Toby and Harry sharing the honours.

Goals galore for Ladies 3s. 7-1 victory at home vs Half Century. Goals from Stella, Annie, Grace, Ruby, Maddie and Rebecca. Fantastic effort today by everyone! Training is definitely paying off with most goals coming from the ‘scoring zones’ and we’re working together well as a team. Fingers crossed the winning streak can continue next week! MOM Maddie DOD Issy

M4 5-2 M5

1st half was electric, no kidding. Best we've played. ⚡
