The EuroHockey Championship Qualifiers continued today. Today was a rest day in Vienna, they will finish their event tomorrow and the 4th ticket to Monchengladbach will be known! The final event got underway in Durham as England, the top seed started well with a comprehensive win over Croatia.

Today’s first game of the EuroHockey Championship Qualifier in Calais, France started with a tight first two quarters between Turkey and Lithuania running head to head with 1-1. The third quarter stayed suspenseful with two penalty corners for Turkey. In the last quarter, Turkey scored two more goals resulting in a 3-1 win for Turkey ranking third in the pool for now.
In the second game of today’s EuroHockey Qualifier in Calais, Ireland, and France were facing each other. The first quarter started with two goals from France to go ahead early 2-0. The third quarter continued with two more goals by France and as well as Ireland scored a goal resulting in a 3-1 lead for France. The last goal in the third quarter made it a 4-1 win for France giving them a good prospect to finish top of the pool and qualify for the EuroHockey Championship in Mönchengladbach 2023, with a game v Lithuania the final obstacle for this strong French side.

SCO v WAL 0-1
An exciting day in Glasgow. The Swiss cracked Gibraltar only in the second half after a 3 – 2 at halftime. With a total of 4 beautiful field goals from Elias Bronniman the end result was 7 -2.
Then the home crowd saw their team losing against Wales for the top ranking in the group by 0 – 1 through a penalty corner of Gareth Furlong. Multiple saves by Welsh goalkeeper Toby Reynolds-Cotterill were necessary for the victory. It’s a rest day tomorrow and the event concludes on Saturday with Wales facing Gibraltar and Switzerland facing hosts Scotland.
FRA v SCO 0-2
On the second day of the EuroHockey Qualifiers in Dunkirk, the France women faced the Scottish team. Both teams used a lot of high balls, speed, and it was a technical game. Scotland earned their second victory and made one step forward to be qualified for EuroHockey Championship 2023.
Tomorrow Austria faces Switzerland with the final games on Saturday!

On the opening day of the final EuroHockey Qualifier in Durham, the games went in favor of the higher-seeded teams with Wales and England both taking a full 3 points with comprehensive wins over lower-ranked Slovakia and Croatia respectively. It’s a rest day tomorrow and we resume on Saturday with Slovakia facing Croatia and England facing their neighbour Wales!

Day 2, Dunkirk
On the second day of the EuroHockey Qualifiers in Dunkirk, France women met the Scottish team. Both teams used a lot of highballs, speed, and technical games. Scotland took the second victory and made one step forward to be qualified for EuroHockey Championship 2023. Tomorrow Austrian team will meet Swiss ladies.
