#FridayFocus: The European Hockey Federation is joining the Erasmus Sport program Aspiring and Inspiring Youth Leaders
The EHF is happy to announce that we’re a partner in the Erasmus+ program Aspiring and Inspiring Youth Leaders which will take place from 2021 until 2023. This program aims to create a European development program for young hockey leaders who have the ambition to lead hockey within their own country and internationally to new heights.
6 youth leaders from Poland, Czech, Ukraine, Wales, Denmark and Sweden will work together with 5 experts in the field of leadership and youth development.
These expert partners are the University of Copenhagen (DK), Streetgames (UK), SportsinQ (NL) and the European Hockey Federation.
The team plans to deliver, among others, guidelines and best practises to help hockey nations to connect their young leaders more and a European youth leader development program which is planned to become an integral part of the EHF development programs.

Speaking about the initial ‘virtual’ meeting, Project Coordinator, Gino Schilders said “Yesterday we met for the first time with the whole team and today we continue with a packed second part of our 2-day program. I enjoyed that people who do not know each other were able to find a common language so fast as I feel we’re already working for months together. It’s all about our passion for youth leadership and about moving hockey to the next level.”
Summing up day one he added “We came together to the conclusion that leadership is a choice and that young people do not have to wait for “when they grow up” to step up and be a leader. We had fun getting to know each other and we’re committed to delivering a great project. You will hear more from us for sure and feel free to follow our journey”
