Hockey season begins…
The 2020-21 hockey season openers at Old Schools Lane resulted in a 1-1 draw for our L1s and M1s plus a 3-3 draw for our M3s. Points on the board! This weekend (03 October) the Surrey hockey league campaigns also begin. Our L4s have first push back v Guildford. All the best to everyone for this season!
There are some who have left us, however the Club has welcomed plenty of new members this year. It’s great to see so many people enjoying hockey, right through from our U8s to our more senior players at Walking Hockey.
Thank you to everyone for embracing teamo and continuing to comply to the guidelines. Keep reading for the latest information from England Hockey.
Team photos will be a tricky this year but we would love to see them! For instance, our socially distanced L5s v L6s are all smiles (to the left) and above, our L2s try a new winning formation.
Playing hockey in ‘Step 5’
As we continue to play hockey here’s a reminder of the England Hockey match day and training guidelines (see poster). All Epsom HC members please continue to check-in via teamo PlaySafe either beforehand via the app or by scanning the posters on arrival at our venues (Old Schools Lane, Therfield and Epsom College).
All members and all other visitors (home spectators, opposition players and coaches, away team spectators, officials, etc) are encouraged to scan the official QR code on the NHS Test & Trace poster. This information will only be used where necessary to help stop the spread of COVID-19 (posters at all venues).
We’ve created a COVID-19: Return to Play page which will be updated as necessary. It also includes information about visiting Old Schools Lane as well as Epsom HC’s facemask and photography policies.
Epsom HC Covid Officer
Our appointed Covid Officer is Emma Dale.
If you show symptoms of COVID-19 DO NOT attend training or a game. Firstly phone NHS Test and Trace and let our Covid Officer know immediately (welfare@epsomhc.co.uk).
