Weekend Match Reports 10th February 2019
BartonHC M1s 3 - 5 Cannock HC M1s
If ever there was a game of two halves, this was it. Cannock began the game tentatively, surrendering control to Barton who took full advantage punishing the Chase Park side who found themselves 3 goals down within 15 minutes. Cannock dug in and were able to pull a goal back through a well worked short corner driven in by Duncan Gladwin.
Some frank words at half time by the Cannock captain Stuart Gooderham resulted in a transformation in performance. Cannock upped the pace and style of their game and tore into the Barton midfield and defence. Goals from Aaron Wilkes, Dan Hibbert and a brace from Ed Martin turned this match upside down, as Barton fought desperately to stop the rout. Cannock took a very valuable three points home with them to start preparing for their clash with top of the table Harborne next week.
Cannock M4s 5 - 4 Wednesbury M2s
Cannock 4s played Wednesbury 2s and went 5 - 0 up within the first 15 minutes, before being drawn into a war of attrition. Following 2 red cards early in the second half, Cannock were forced to mount a rearguard action and play the last 25 minutes with 9 men, eventually running out 5-4 winners.

Cannock M5s 0 - 9 Sutton Coldfield 6s
After a short journey to Sutton Coldfield, Cannock soon realised they were up against a very strong team. Despite the Cannocks team best efforts, they could just not keep Sutton out of the scoring zone. Unfortunately Cannock had two players injured during the game, playing the majority of the second half without a goal keeper.
A very tough game for all involved, but a learning experience, we go again next week!
Cannock L1s 5 - 1 Lichfield
Cannock ladies 1s kicked off their second half of the season with a trip to local rivals Lichfield. Cannock started strong and immediately applied the pressure to the home side in scoring a nice team goal with Nic George hitting it first time into the back of the net. The second came not long after from Emma Pardo. The home side however started to get momentum and went into half with with a goal under their belt.
Half time came at a good time for Cannock who were able to gain their composure back and score a third quickly after the break with a well struck shot from Jodie Beddow. Lichfield never really looked like getting back into the game with Cannock breaking through their press and stretching them. A fourth goal came from skipper Sarah Martin before Lucy Spencer put the game to bed with a sweet first strike from a short corner.
