National League 1 – Hillhead 1s vs Grove Menzieshill 1s
Anniesland 3pm

The first team approach this weekend full of confidence, having struggled to get going this season, they are currently on a three match winning streak. However, tough opposition await them this weekend. Menzieshill have a three game win streak of their own to defend, which included a convincing 5-2 victory over fellow top 4 contenders Western Wildcats. With both teams scoring 11 goals and conceding only 3 in the last three games a tense contest is approaching.

Regional League 1 – Kelburne 2s vs Hillhead 2s
Glasgow Green - 3pm

Hillhead currently sit 2nd in Regional 1 having faltered in only 2 games this season, but Captain Phillips’ men have scored 32 goals in 8 games. A visit to Glasgow Green is always a treat and has produced many fine matches over the years between these two teams. With a forward line in fine form, a midfield martialled by Andrew Hilton and a steadfast defence, the 2s go into this match looking to secure 3 points. With league leaders Clydesdale hosting Grange 2s at Titwood, this is an excellent opportunity for the Hornets to keep the pressure on the Dale at the top of the table. Regional League 2 – Hillhead 3s vs Rottenrow
Anniesland - 4.30pm

Following on after the 1st team at Anniesland are our 3rd team against Rottenrow. The 3s currently sit 2nd in Regional 2, four points off the leaders Inverleith. The boys must look to use home advantage here and secure 3 points to keep pace with the leaders. Unfortunately, Rottenrow are often a tough nut to crack, they work hard and never give up. An intriguing match awaits – make sure and stick around at Anniesland to watch what is bound to be a cracker.

West District Division 1 – Kelburne 3s vs Hillhead 4s
Glasgow Green - 4.30pm

Hillhead 4s need to start putting points on the board. Having been in strong positions in a number of games this season they have often struggled after half time. Having had a week off following their win against GHK the boys are raring to go once again. With only 3 matches left before Christmas Gordon Macintyre-Kemp’s charges will need to defend hard at the back and take their chances up front on Saturday to begin their charge up the table. Roddy got three last week, fingers crossed his hot streak continues and Hillhead round off

West District Division 2 – Kelburne 4s vs Hillhead 5s
Glasgow Green - 12pm

Starting off a trio of matches against Kelburne are our 5s. Hopes are high here at Hillhead headquarters that we will be able to bounce back following a disappointing 4-0 defeat at Helensburgh last weekend. The Hillhead forwards will be keen to get a run at a Kelburne defence that conceded 28 goals in October and get the Hornets off to winning ways at the home of Scottish Hockey.

West District Division 3 – Hillhead 6s vs Greenock 2s
Anniesland - 12.30pm

Opening the day at Anniesland are our 6s, the youngsters led by Jim Frail currently sit fourth in West 3 but are only a point behind second place. Currently even on points with their opposition it is important that the boys take their chances when they come and stay focused in defence.

West District Division 4 – Giffnock 3s vs Hillhead 7s
Eastwood High School - 3pm

In the last match before their winter break the 7s take on rivals Giffnock. A win here would move Hillhead into 2nd place in the league and a point ahead of Saturday’s opponents although Giffnock could retake 2nd the following weekend in Dumfries. Regardless, the West Enders’ must focus on games that they can influence. Giffnock are the second highest scorers in the league and have conceded the least, 70 minutes hard graft will be essential to a successful trip south of the river.
