Three champs crowned

Lindsey Frank had two goals and two assists as No. 2 Saratoga upended No. 1 Shenendehowa, 4-3, Monday in the Section II Class A field hockey championship at Schuylerville.

The Blue Streaks won their first title since 2014 and ended Shenendehowa's run of two straight titles. Shenendehowa has won six sectional championships since 2008.

Frank twice gave Saratoga a one-goal lead in the first half, but Jenna Graf pulled Shenendehowa even both times. Kate Ginley made it 3-2 Saratoga with 3:19 left in the first half and Emily Leonard added another marker early in the second half to pad Saratoga's lead.

Shenendehowa pulled within a goal on Eliza Branch's goal with 17:20 to play.
