Joy and heartbreak in the space of 70 minutes!

An afternoon of National League Division 1 celebrations at GHK: Two for Hillhead, THREE for Grange!

Callum Duke (pictured) celebrates as his PF puts Hillhead 2-1 into the lead...but a last gasp winner with seconds on the clock saw the men from Edinburgh take those all-important three points and a display of, nothing short of rapturous celebration (pictured) and probably downright relief!
Whilst the hockey from both sides wasn't great there was no shortage of excitement in a ...tight match that saw Grange take the lead in the first half. Hillhead came back with an excellently worked equalising goal that saw a diving Adam Carmichael score brilliantly from close range.
In a frantic second half Hillhead took a that 2-1 lead with Callum Duke's well executed PF. A few minutes later and the HHC 1 men had a great chance to take a 3-1 lead after being awarded a second PF. Callum Duke stepped up once again, but this time he sent the ball so high over the upright, rumour has it that it landed on old granny's head in the Asda carpark in Bearsden! On a serious note, you really have to feel for the man: his unbridled passion for his club, country and all-round love of the game, takes him to admirable heights that no ball could ever reach. But yes, it was one of those days again for Hillhead, that this time saw Grange fighting hard - against a brilliant goalkeeping performance from Jamie Frail amongst all the frantic play - and eventually getting an equalising second goal and then, in the last minute of a fascinating match, scoring their third and acquiring a hard fought three points. Game over, quite literally, seconds later!
