bullheadThere was no bullying this BULLSBAY! Making his first start at historic Saratoga

on Thursday, July 31, 2-year-old BULLHEADED BOY survived being banged around at the start, a quick pace, going wide around the far turn and a stretch battle to win by a half length going five furlongs! He is the first winner from the first crop for BULLSBAY.

Owned by Gary Barber and trained by Todd Pletcher, BULLHEADED BOY, who last sold for $115,000 at the Ocala Breeders Sales Company 2-year-olds in training sale, completed the distance in :58.67 over a sloppy (sealed) track while defeating seven others as the 3-to-5 favorite. The colt, bred in New York by Zeke Kobak and Danny Bramer, is eligible for many lucrative programs – in addition to racing in New York, he is from a Maryland-sired crop of BULLSBAY and can also target the Maryland Million.

BULLSBAY stood his first three seasons at Northview Stallion Station in Maryland before moving to Northview PA for the 2014 season. One of the best of Tiznow’s runners at stud, BULLSBAY also proved his love for Saratoga with a win in the Gr. 1 Whitney Handicap in 2009.
