0

VielsalmTwo stakes, two blanket finishes, two FAIRBANKS stakes performers on Saturday, Sept. 6.

VIELSALM, making her stakes debut, got upon in the final strides to win the $100,000 All Brandy S. for Maryland-bred fillies and mares by a neck at Laurel Park. The 4-year-old filly owned by Brooke Bowman and trained by Dylan Smith has been on the board in four of her six starts this year. Out of the Opening Verse mare Merriweather, VIELSALM upped her career earnings to $173,516. Her full brother Open the Bank is also a six-figure earner and was second in the $100,000 James W. Murphy S. earlier this year at Pimlico.

A few hours following VIELSALM's exciting score, the 2-year-old colt ONE GO ALL GO made his second career start in the Gr. 3 $125,000 Arlington-Washington Futurity at Arlington Park. The time-honored juvenile test saw a dogfight to the wire, with the top three finishers just heads apart, as FAIRBANKS' son just missed to finish third. Owned by Feel The Thunder Stable and trained by Michael Stidham, the colt was bred in Virginia by Albert P. Coppola.

FAIRBANKS is the sire of six stakes horses this year and is the region's leading third-crop sire with more than $1.4 million in progeny earnings. Seventy-five percent of his stakes horses showed their stakes potential at 2, including stakes-winning SYNAPSE.
