Flying Start for Jacquinot

0 3

Buyers warmed quickly to the first yearlings by Widden Stud’s dual Group I winner Jacquinot offered on Tuesday during the first session of Magic Millions with five selling at an average $312,000.

Best result for Jacquinot on day one was the Widden Stud consigned colt from Bonheur that made $425,000 when secured by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/David Redvers Bloodstock.

He was one of five colts bought in the opening session for this partnership that involves Sheikh Fahad Al Thani’s Qatar Racing.

An attractive bay, very similar to his sire, the colt was bred by Widden in partnership with Robert Anderson and is the first foal of winning I Am Invincible mare Bonheur, a half-sister to Group placed Miss Aria from Group I VRC Myer Classic winner Bonaria.

Ciaron Maher will also take charge of the second highest priced Jacquinot with the colt from Asteria making $375,000 for Lime Country Thoroughbreds when knocked down to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Ozzie Kheir/Group 1 Bloodstock.

He is the first foal of Asteria, a winning full sister to juvenile stakes-winner Profiteer.

Jacquinot has a further 17 yearlings to be offered this week.
