MM Contender Unit Five Wins Gold Coast Trial
The Ciaron Maher trained Supido colt Unit Five was scratched from a Sydney barrier trial last week as he continues his preparation for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on January 17 and reappeared at the Gold Coast on Monday morning.
Ridden by Thomas Stockdale in his 1000m heat, Unit Five camped behind the leader on the fence and when a gap appeared he powered through and to win by three-quarters of a length held together with another MM contender Mystical working home for third.

An $80,000 MM purchase from Widden Stud for his trainer, Unit Five has many members of the Widden Stud staff in his ownership and they also bred the colt, who won the Magic Millions Victoria Classic on debut, read more in this story.
Widden will offer the yearling half-brother by Anders to Unit Five at Inglis Premier as Lot 34.
