Foal Championships: Leg 5 Results
The final leg of the Foal Championship qualifiers took place yesterday, down South in Banner Equestrian, County Clare. The judges on duty were Maurice Coleman and Michael Hutchinson. The event was well supported with 25 foals in attendance.
The first class was Pony Eventing and kicked off at 12pm. This class, tightly contested, was won by Christopher Slattery’s colt foal, Sandfield Lucky Socks (ISP), by HSF Lucky Boy (ISH) out of FS Cascada (RS) damsire FS Champion de Luxe (RP). Second place went to Marian Judge’s Waterglades Touch of Luck (WPCS), another colt by HSF Lucky Boy (ISH), out of Waterglades Gemini (WPB) by Village Lad.

The day moved onto Pony Showjumping, again a tight class. Fintan Cosgrove’s colt foal Knockmoy Spartan (CP) was crowned winner here. Knockmoy Spartan (CP) is by Knockmoy Silver Shadow (CP), out of Cooleshall Kasprovy (CP), by Fiona’s Man (CP). The reserve champion went to Pineview Lucys Boss (ISP), bred by Sharon Walsh, by her own stallion Pineview Junior Boss (ISP), out of Lucy (CP), by Westside Mirah (CP).

The next class of the day was Horse Eventing. PJ Hegarty’s filly Fenyas A1 (ISH) was the winner here, sired by Cassallido (HOLST), out of Fenyas Allure (ISH), by Ramiro B (BWP). Second place went to Kieran Fahy’s filly foal by Durango (KWPN), out of It Aint Simple (ISH), by OBOS Quality (OLD).

The day ended on Horse Showjumping, this was the largest class of the day. Scott Mannion’s colt foal Rocman SO (ISH) was the champion, sired by Cornet Obolensky (BWP), out of Caramelle KLT (SWB), by Cardento (HOLST). Reserve was awarded to Maura Crowley’s filly foal Reenmore (ISH), by Casallco (HOLST), out of Maywinn Van Broekhoven (BWP) by Der Senaat 111 (BWP).
