Minnesota HBPA Horse Person of the Week: Olivia Bethke

Each week the Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Agency recognizes a person that exemplifies the Minnesota horse racing industry. This week’s honoree is Olivia Bethke.

Olivia, daughter of trainer Troy Bethke, has been involved in equestrian pursuits for as long as she can remember.  She always could be found working at the track or riding horses at the family farm developing the skills of a horse person. She now gallops racehorses for her father and several other trainers and often brings horses to the paddock to be saddled.

Off the track Olivia is known for her success in equestrian eventing and specializes in show jumping with retired Minnesota-bred racehorses. Olivia is the recipient of numerous awards recognizing her accomplishments in competition. Her commitment to horsemanship is evident throughout all aspects of her career. She is dedicated and loves working with horses alongside her father.

Olivia will be recognized in a winner’s circle ceremony following Wednesday’s first race.

Thank you to the Minnesota HBPA and to sponsors Bravis Craft Mexican Kitchen located in Canterbury Commons and Luro Boots in Bloomington.
