‘We’ve seen enough’ – Bookies give up and pay out Willie Mullins bet over a week early

BEATEN bookies admitted “we’ve seen enough” as they paid out on a Willie Mullins bet over a week early.

The best trainer of his generation and possibly of all time has had another all-conquering season.

And he could cap it off with a second straight British jumps trainer title at Sandown next weekend.

The Closutton boss is currently trailing Dan Skelton by just £8,005 with the season finale coming up at the Surrey track on Saturday, April 26.

Mullins won the feature bet365 Gold Cup at the meeting last year en route to his historic maiden title.

But BoyleSports aren’t bothering to wait to find out if Mullins (currently 1-6 to win) can break Skelton’s heart again, with the latter 9-2.

They have paid out as a winner all bets on Mullins to be crowned Champion British Jumps trainer – despite the fact he could still lose.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “As the ‘Home of the Early Payout’, our customers don’t have to wait for the finish line.

“Willie has rewritten the script all season and we’ve seen enough already to believe he’s going to finish the job in style!”

There were tears at Aintree as Mullins landed the 1-2-3 in the Grand National, with son Patrick riding 33-1 Nick Rockett to victory.

He then bagged the 1-2 in the Scottish Grand National a week later.

Mullins has entered a whole host of big names for Plumpton’s Easter meeting, including the likes of Kargese and Absurde in the Sussex Champion Hurdle.

While Blood Destiny is one of four in the Champion Chase alongside Tullyhill, Westport Cove and Western Diego.

He also looks mob-handed for the Sandown send-off.

Mullins’ assistant David Casey said Grand National third Grangeclare West could contend the Gold Cup there.

While Mullins himself didn’t rule out sending Mares’ Hurdle superstar Lossiemouth.
