OSU Equestrian Team trying to gain views to get Snoop Dogg to a meet

0 2

STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) - Two Oklahoma State University seniors are continuing their quest to have Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart attend one of their Equestrian meets.

After all, Snoop said it's now one of his favorite sports. They believe they just need more views on social media to reach their goal.

"He's officially a horse girl," said Peyton Baxter.

"Why can't he come here?" asked Lauren Pursley.

This year, Pursley and Baxter have a big goal.

"To get number one, baby," said Baxter.

Well, two big goals.

"To get Snoop Dogg here," Baxter added.

The two roommates got the idea from watching clips from the Paris Olympics, when Snoop became a sensation.

"He said equestrian is his favorite sport now," said Baxter.

"I'm interested in the horses that dance and I want to give them some carrots," Snoop Dogg told NBC's Lester Holt.

"I like his braids. I can't get over that," Snoop said while getting up close to an Olympic horse.

Baxter and Pursley want Snoop's friend Martha Stewart to join.

The two seniors are majoring in communications when they're not practicing.

"It's something that we're kind of passionate about," said Pursley.

"I think we put the two uni-brain together and one of us was like, 'What if we got him here.' And then it was kind of like a click and we were like, 'We should make a TikTok,'" said Baxter.

So they did, day after day.

"The first one was kind of a joke, then it got around 10-thousand views and I was like 'Woah,'" said Baxter.

"This is day three of trying to get Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart to come to an OSU Equestrian meet. Go Pokes!" they said in their video that has already gained more than 55,000 views.

Since then, the OSU President has appeared in a video.

"I'm Dr. Kayse Shrum, President of Oklahoma State University, and this is Day 10 of asking Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart to come to an Oklahoma State University Equestrian Meet," she said.

"We just casually went to her house, like what world is this?" said Pursley.

They also had Ollie Gordon, one of the best running backs in the nation, in a video.

"We got plans. We got goals," said Pursley.

"We want to get Mike Gundy in one of them," said Baxter.

And why wouldn't Snoop Dogg want to watch them ride? They've won the Big 12 Championship over the last four years. Last year, they were ranked #3 in the nation.

"We are the best. I don't care what rankings say," said Baxter.

They also won nationals in 2022. Now, they just need more views and they have some ideas on how to get them.

"We have some people we're trying to collab with," said Pursley.

They're also taking suggestions of what people want to see in the comments.

"I think we just need one to hit really high," said Baxter.
