Jess Rocket Man Wins $22,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes

Trainer Jason Olmstead saddles top three finishers

Trainer Jason Olmstead saddled three of the five entrants in Wednesday’s $22,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes, a race he had won six of the past seven years. His three horses ran first, second and third providing the Hall of Fame quarter horse trainer with his seventh Morehouse win. Jess Rocket Man won, Relentless Babe was next and Relentless Flash finished third.

Jess Rocket Man, ridden by Ramiro Garcia, covered the 350 yards in 17.714 seconds, winning by three-quarters of a length. He returned $2.20. Jess Rocket Man was bred in Minnesota by his owners Lunderborg LLC.

The 6-year-old gelding Jess Rocket Man, who won the Morehouse in 2022 in stakes record time of 17.353 seconds, has now won eight of 11 starts at Canterbury and has lifetime earnings of $227,883 from 27 career races. Full brother to Jess Rocket Man, Dickey Bob, won the Bob Morehouse in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2023 for Olmstead and Lunderborg. In the race prior to the Morehouse, full sister to Jess Rocket Man, Da Lie Lah, broke her maiden in her second career start.
