National HBPA Foundation Seeking Support for Horsemen and Women in New Mexico

Dear Horsemen and Horsewomen,

I am writing to each of you on behalf of the National HBPA Foundation, as we are seeking support for our fellow horsemen and women in New Mexico. As you likely are aware two wildfires in New Mexico have prompted the evacuation of thousands of residents Ruidoso, N.M., as well as the relocation of hundreds of horses from Ruidoso Race Track and cancelling racing days.

The NMHA board and President Dr. Paul Jenson have arranged for deliveries of feed and a water truck to the racetrack, after getting reports of interrupted water service. As we know from the recent devastation in Oklahoma, the National HBPA Foundation is committed to Horsemen Helping Horsemen and doing our part to provide relief and support to those impacted. We cannot do this alone and we need help to ensure horsemen can recover from this setback. We are asking that you make a donation to the National HBPA Foundation, specifically tagging New Mexico Horsemen. The funds will be collected and sent to our affiliate NMHA who will help disseminate the funds when they are ready. The NMHA has also set up a Venmo account that may be reached here: @nmhastate1 for donations to the Ruidoso Horsemen’s Relief Fund.

All donations will go directly towards:
*Supplies for horsemen and horsewomen.
*Veterinary and essential general care supplies for horses.
*Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference in the lives of those affected.

Please help provide the necessary monetary support to help our fellow horsemen and women in New Mexico.

To donate, please click here, and mark Donation in the name of: New Mexico Horsemen.

You may also send your contributions to:
National HBPA Foundation
3380 Paris Pike
Lexington, KY 40511

Please note “New Mexico Horsemen” on mailed donations to ensure that your contribution goes directly to this cause.

Thank you and we appreciate your support during this challenging time. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the National HBPA office (859) 259-0451.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Eric J. Hamelback
