Australian racing’s exciting new partnership

Unibet Australia is our new wagering partner. Please join up.

Punters are very discerning when it comes to betting on horse racing. Excellent customer service, fair market odds, a wide range of betting options, and up-to-the-minute information are some of the critical factors in determining whether a bookmaker is competitive in the betting landscape. At Thoroughbred Village, much effort goes into ensuring our betting offering meets these criteria and more. Therefore, without further ado, we are proud to announce our new online bookmaker partnership, with Unibet Australia, to take effect September 1st, 2020.

Over the years, BetEasy has been our premier betting platform for the village. With the recent retirement of the BetEasy brand, finding a new corporate partner that suited the needs of our punters was utmost in our planning. After months of investigating the various brands available in Australia, Thoroughbred Village is excited to partner with Unibet Australia. We welcome the Unibet Australia support team to the village and encourage all punters to join with our new betting partner.

The demise of the BetEasy brand occurred as result of overseas commercial activities beyond Australian control. Irish company, Flutter Entertainment plc, owners of Paddy Power, Betfair and Sportsbet, completed a full share acquisition of Canadian company The Stars Group, owner of the world’s largest poker site PokerStars, creating the biggest sports betting & gaming company globally. The result of this for Aussie punters is that the BetEasy name (owned by The Stars Group) is no more and, like it or not, all BetEasy accounts have been swallowed into the Sportsbet brand.

Many villagers will identify with BetEasy as the major partner of Thoroughbred Village, dating back to previous names Crownbet and IASBet. Although we’ve known since last year that this was coming, it is quite sad to lose the partnership as a result of business decisions half a world away. The IASBet/CrownBet/BetEasy company has supported the village almost from the beginning and, working together, we were the pioneers of horse racing communities on the web. Under the astute management of Michael Liston, they supported the provision of prizes for competitions, countless betting bonuses exclusive to the village, and vast amounts of copy for promotional blogs and articles. Before regulation was tightened, many of the bonuses offered to village punters far exceeded those available to the general public. For that we are grateful to Michael and his team. It must be noted that no other corporate bookmaker was so generous to the village, and giving of their time to help us.

Nonetheless, we move on and I am excited to announce UNIBET AUSTRALIA as the new bookmaking partner of Thoroughbred Village and our subsidiary site Villagebet.com.au

Unibet is an international online gaming company, headquartered in Malta. It entered the Australian market in 2012 with the purchase of Australian betting company Betchoice which had been around since 2001. Since then it has grown in the local market to become one of the major players. It is an official partner of the AFL, NRL and Cricket Australia.

Unibet has all the credentials of a great partner for the village community. Not only a great horse racing corporate but allows us to play on other major Australian sports such as Footy, rugby cricket and golf. The boys in Joffs All Sports Bar will be salivating!

Unibet consistently offers the best odds of all the corporates, and takes less margin than any of the other bookmakers in Australia. That’s good for us, right? Unibet offers a great service via desktop and mobile devices and terrific customer service and promotion of racing in Australia.

Personally speaking, I love their fresh desktop and mobile apps. It’s easy to bet and withdrawing your winnings is a breeze. They even use Paypal! I find their odds more than competitive and if you’re like me and find the Sportsbet ads nauseating to the extreme, get on board our new village partner in Unibet and create your future!

Thus, I strongly urge all our wonderful village punters to transition over to Unibet Australia. Particularly those left high and dry following the disappearance of BetEasy. Don’t accept being devoured by another company with whom you didn’t intend or agree to join. Withdraw your funds and join up with our new village partner Unibet.

Joining up is easy. Simply click on the following link and join up straight away. It takes only a minute.

I’ll be reviewing all the features of Unibet in upcoming blogs, for both here and villagebet.com.au, so you’ll want to get onboard and try out some of the great features. Our Unibet dedicated client manager Melissa is well on board with us, and can sort out any issues and keep us updated with all the latest technologies available for the punter.

We’re happy to partner with Unibet Australia and hope you are too.

See you online and betting with Unibet!

Best wishes and good punting,

Mayor
